Tallgrass Lodge provides fully guided Kansas Rio Grande turkey hunts and Kansas Eastern turkey hunts on thousands of acres loaded with free roaming Kansas wild turkeys. We have some of the best Kansas Rio Grande and Eastern Turkey Hunting in the State. Even though we hunt thousands of acres we keep our hunting pressure very low ensuring an exciting encounter with these elusive big game animals. Our fully Guided Kansas Turkey Hunts are two on one hunts. Two hunters to one guide. Your guide will do all of the calling for you or you can do the calling the choice is yours. We have a 98% success rate on guided turkey hunts!

Guided Spring & Fall Kansas Turkey Hunts – $1350

4 nights / 3 days

What is included: Professional guide, three full meals a day, lodging, plenty of snacks and drinks, field transportation, and bird cleaning.

What is not included: Licenses, Permits, Taxes, and Gratuities.

Bag Limits: The bag limit on spring turkey hunts is two bearded turkey. The bag limit on fall turkey hunts is two birds, toms or hens.

        • Regular (firearm/archery): April 12 – May 31, 2016
        • Archery-Only : April 3 – 11, 2016
        • Youth/Disabled : April 1 – 11, 2016
        • Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset.
        • Legal Equipment: long, recurve, or compound bows, crossbows and shotguns and muzzleloading shotguns using shot sizes 2 through 9.
        • Limit: Any individual who has purchased a spring turkey permit is eligible for one second turkey game tag. Spring game tags are valid for Units 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6.
        • Archery/Shotgun : TBA
        • Fall Turkey Permits in Units 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 and game tags for UNIT 2 ONLY may be purchased over the counter at any license vendor or online.
        • No permits authorized in Unit 4.
        • Shooting Hours: One-half hour before sunrise to sunset.
        • Legal Equipment: Shotguns and muzzleloading shotguns using shot sizes 2-9; long, recurve or compound bows and crossbows. Dogs may be used while hunting turkeys during the fall turkey season.
        • Limit: Fall turkey permits may be purchased over-the-counter or online, and are valid in Units 1,2,3,5 and 6.
        • Any individual with a fall turkey permit may purchase as many as three turkey game tags VALID IN UNIT 2 ONLY.
        • Turkey permits and turkey game tags may be purchased online at or from all license agents through Jan. 31, 2016.

Permits and licenses are not included in the package prices. It is the responsibility of the hunter to obtain the proper permits and licenses. Each hunter will need a Kansas Hunting license, a turkey permit valid for UNIT 3 and if you wish to harvest a second bird a second turkey game tag. The Non-Resident hunting license costs $72.50, the turkey permit costs $32.50 and the turkey game tag costs $22.50.

Anyone born on or after July 1, 1957 must have completed a certified hunter safety course to hunt in Kansas. Please visit the KDWP home page for further information.

Deposits for Tallgrass Lodge

50% of your total package costs are due when you make your reservations. If you are booking a fall hunt (October – January) 100% of your balance is due by September 1st. If you are booking a spring hunt (April – May) your balance is due 60 days prior to your scheduled hunt.

Tallgrass Lodge Cancellation Policy

If you cancel before June 1st before your scheduled hunt your deposit will be refunded less a 10% processing fee. If you cancel after June 1st of the year of your hunt your entire deposit will be forfeited. If a member of your party does not show up for the hunt 100% of the price of the package booked is still due.
