Everybody needs time away; time just for themselves. You would be hard-pressed to find a more pleasurable destination than Tallgrass Lodge. We invite you to come and enjoy the serenity and unsurpassed beauty of the Tall Grass prairie. When you stay with us you can choose to participate in as much or as little activity as you would like. You can book our suite and stay in your room for the duration of your visit enjoying the Jacuzzi bath. We will be glad to bring you what ever you need. If you’re in the mood for adventure you can hike one or our nature trails, canoe and fish Lyon Creek, fish one of our ponds, or join our bonfire and sunset hay ride when it’s in season. Please enjoy our site; you will see we can accommodate your every need.

If you have never been spent time in the Tall Grass Prairie you must see it to believe it. We have grass species that can reach over six feet tall. When the early settlers came through this area they called it the great grass desert. It is not that way anymore. Our properties are not just native Tall Grass prairie. We have hundreds of acres of grass, flowering plants, and deep wooded draws. Lyon Creek splits our property in half. These diverse habitats really add to our species diversity. If you truly love nature our lodge will seem like a paradise. Come and hike one of our nature trails.  We can even arrange to send a naturalist along with you (when they are available). One of the lodge owners happens to be a Tall Grass Prairie ecologist.  Our naturalists can give you a tour of our grounds and explain prairie ecology and point out species of interest. If you are a bird watcher we have hundreds of species for you to add to your life lists. Grassland, woodland, and wetland species abound. Nature photographers please bring your equipment and fill your portfolios with sets you can truly be proud of.

When you call to make your reservations please feel free to discuss any special arrangements you may need. We have packages from the simple do it yourself to the absolutely luxurious. We will work very hard to accommodate every request.

Our charming country lodge is over 100 years old, but make no mistake, it has every amenity you will need to make your stay with us a one of a kind experience. Lodge amenities include; full service kitchen, large dining area, recreation area with pool table, and a large living area for you to share time with friends and family in front of the big screen television with surround sound.  Perhaps you would like to relax with a drink and enjoy the tranquility from our huge rap around porch.
 
Tallgrass Lodge has 5 guest rooms to choose from.  We have a honeymoon suite on the main floor with a queen bed and an attached bath with shower and Jacuzzi bath (left below).  We have a bunk room downstairs with twin over full log bunk beds and a single room right next door with a full bed. These two rooms share a bath.  There are two bedrooms upstairs.  One single room with a queen bed and a large bunk room with two twin over full log bunk beds and a queen bed in between (left above). These two rooms also share a bathroom.
 
These rooms and beds can comfortably sleep twelve; they can sleep twenty depending on the sleeping arrangements.  To see more look in the photo gallery under Lodge.

We believe we have one of the best chefs in the region. In fact we actually have people return just for the food. Our dishes range from good down home country comfort food to classic French, Italian, and Fusion cuisine. The chef will often prepare dishes by request, so why not ask. Please let us know before you arrive if you have a favorite wine you would like us to stock, it will be waiting on you, and paired with the perfect dish.

 

Full payment is expected at the time of your reservation.

If you are booking a guided fishing trip 100% of your balance is due 30 days prior to your scheduled fishing trip. All packages must be canceled within 90 days of your scheduled trip. All packages not canceled within 90 days of your scheduled trip will result in forfeit of 100% of your deposit. All trips canceled prior to 90 days of your scheduled trip will have a 10% processing fee charged and taken out of your deposit. If a member of your party does not show up for the fishing trip 100% of the package price booked is still due.

Our lodge is available for private bookings for the months of April-August. You can book the entire lodge for your private group or event and have the whole lodge to yourself. Our lodge can sleep up to 20 guests depending on the room arrangements.  When you book the lodge for your private use you can arrange for food to be provided as well as any of our other activities for private use by your group. Our sporting clays range is open the public so please let us know in advance if you would like the private use of our range and we will make arrangements. We can also arrange shooting instructors for your group.
